Many people around here have stopped me and asked, “How’s the free Christmas going?” I could tell by their tone that they suspected that I had thrown in the towel and purchased gifts. So far, nearly 1/2 of my list is done and guess what…… we haven’t spent a dime.
The kids have gotten busy and have employed Paw Paw to help them with a couple of gifts. I have been busy painting and sketching. Not to mention all the sewing that has been happening when no one is looking. And Mark disappears into his shop every now and then, hope he is doing more than just cleaning it! It amazes me to no end how we are all working along aside one another to pull this off. Next week, the baking begins and the house will smell like Christmas.
I have been in a couple of ladies’ groups listening to their “Black Friday” experience. I just sat there sipping my drink and marveling at how much money, energy and combat planning was spent just for gifts. I hate to sound like a Scrooge but come on the pushing, shoving, throwing of toys and personal injuries????? I am all about saving a dollar here and there but I prefer to keep my arms and legs intact. Then when the eyes are turned towards me, I just smiled and said, “I had a peaceful night’s sleep and I enjoyed spending the day with my hubby and kids.” And people think I’m crazy for wanting to spend NO money for Christmas??!!??
All the toys and gadgets in the world would never be worth the value of my 8yo’s face when he is making his Dad’s gift with his beloved Paw Paw. Talk about priceless!!
God Bless…..

Well

These are great memories that you are making for your family!
