Epiphany means to show, to make known and even to reveal. It is the time that the wise men had traveled afar and had reached the infant, Jesus, to adorn him with treasures. Due to their coming to Jesus and honoring him, their gift giving revealed to the world that Jesus was Lord. The lavish gifts the Magi gave Jesus were worth his kingship.
Epiphany is the conclusion of the Christmas season following the 12 Days of Christmas. It begins on January 6th and follows through until Ash Wednesday. It is celebrated with feasting and with a King’s Cake…. yes, you read it correctly….. the King’s Cake just like in Mardi Gras. The King’s Cake is made between January 6th and Ash Wednesday.
As a cool activity make your own King’s Cake and celebrate the Epiphany season.
God Bless…..
